LBN 534 is an isolated and elongated molecular cloud in the constellation of Andromeda.. Either shock fronts from a supernova or ionization fronts from a massive star could have caused the shape of this cloud as well as the spatial distribution of young stars. The blue reflection nebula, vdB 158, is located at the southern end of the cloud. The nearby bright B9.5V star, HD 222142, illuminates VdB 158.
LBN 534 est un nuage moléculaire isolé et allongé dans la constellation d’Andromède. Les fronts de chocs d’une supernova ou les fronts d’ionisation d’une étoile massive pourraient être à l’origine de la forme de ce nuage ainsi que de la distribution spatiale des jeunes étoiles. La nébuleuse bleue par réflexion, vdB 158, est située à l’extrémité sud du nuage. L’étoile brillante B9.5V, HD 222142, qui se trouve à proximité, illumine VdB 158.
