The Rho Ophiuchi cloud is a giant molecular cloud in the Milky Way, composed in part of ionized hydrogen and dark dust. It owes its name to the star that dominates the region in which it lies, ρ Ophiuchi, itself located three degrees north of Antares, in the constellation of Ophiuchus.
Le nuage de Rho Ophiuchi est un nuage moléculaire géant de la Voie lactée composé en partie d’hydrogène ionisé et de poussière sombre. Il doit son nom à l’étoile qui domine la région dans laquelle il se trouve, ρ Ophiuchi, elle-même située à trois degrés au nord d’Antarès, dans la constellation d’Ophiuchus.
